The Terrifying Sinkhole !!!!!

What could that be!!!!?? On Monday September, 11 at Lake Windsor Middle School Paul was talking to Joey when he heard a whooshing sound. When he turned around brown water had over flown all over the field, it began to run to toward the back portables. Every teacher looked out of the door trying to spot were all of this commotion was coming from. A few minutes later the yelling got louder and kids came running out of the portables jumping in the mud. The mud was now taking over the portables. Paul yelled out to Joey that it was a sinkhole. He was sure of it because it was a big hole in the middle of the school. After they were drenched they ditched the umbrella and jumped out of the way fighting there way through the sloshing mud to portable 19. When they got into the portable number 16 fell right over first the roof, and then the rest went right into the end of the hole. When he got into the main building Paul was going to clean his glasses when a large boy walked up to him and cleaned his glasses for him. Then he realized it was Gino.  After a few minutes the loud speaker came on and Mrs. Gates said that we are experiencing an extreme emergency. She said that if you are hurt to go to the office and if you are not hurt go to your afternoon stop. When he reached the bus stop he heard a rush of ambulances, police cars, and fire engines rushing to the entrance way of the school. After the bus pulled in the driveway he went in freezing and muddy trying to find a seat when the bus driver said that she was required to take the children right there doors. When he reached his house he went through the garage straight to the laundry room and took off his pants, shirt, socks, shoes, then with his under shorts on he went and broke the news to his mom.  Sinkholes usually occur where the rock below the land surface is limestone, carbonate rock, salt beds. As the rock is dissolving or denigrating, spaces and caverns develop underground. Sinkholes are dramatic because the land usually stays intact for a while until the underground spaces just get too big. If you do not have enough support for the land above then the spaces gives a sudden collapse. These collapses can be small, or they can be huge and can occur where a house or road is on top. Most of the damage from sinkholes tends to occur in Florida, Texas, Alabama, Missouri, Kentucky, Tennessee, and Pennsylvania. Sinkholes can also form when natural water-drainage patterns are changed and new water-diversion systems are developed. As you can tell this was a hard but awkward day at school. A sinkhole occurred, people broke arms and legs, and now portables and fields are destroyed. This is what happened at Lake Windor Middle School on Monday September, 11.
